With the idea of giving back to the society, Aalok Pravanjyan Welfare Society has been conducting the Assam Rising Awards and Felicitation programme at Guwahati for the last 12 years.

Two awards namely the "Aalok Pravanjyan Award" and the "Dainandin Barta Award" are conferred upon selected awardees every year on the basis of their singular achievements and contributions to the society.

Apart from felicitating prominent working journalists working across the state, the programme also honours prominent personalities of the society and social change makers who have contributed immensely through their own respective fields of work. The award list for the last three years is: -
